Hoagie House under renovation

Does anyone know what is going on with the old Hoagie House on 4th and N NW.  Last I heard its tax issues got extended and it was planned for a k-12 center of some sort.  In the last few days it appears that it is going under renovation.  Anyone know what the plans are for?  thanks,

Ann

Is it really?! That's good news! They did get a 6 mos. extension on those taxes, the deadline for which should be coming up shortly. That's great that there's finally some movement -- Si tells me its been 8 or 9 years that this evasion has been going on. I bet Si or Cmsr. Nigro would know what's up.

MVSNA was informed before the holidays that The Unique Learning Center had decided that it was not in their best interest to move forward with their plans and were going to sell the property.

I later heard that Abbas Fathi had shown interest in the property for a residential building with a possible cafe on the ground floor. I don't have confirmation of that - but I can confirm that the child care/learning center is not going t renovate and move into the Hoagie House.

Abbas did buy it and his crew is now cleaning it out. hallelujah! Looks like most of 4th street has been spoken for. when I moved on that block 10 years ago it was eerie and vacant. only about 9 places were occupied. Rob or C. Nigro, any word from the owner of Z's old place at 4th & Ridge? That, and the red tower house at 4th & M? I also saw movement in the green house on that SE corner...sweet!
