Question on increased crime in neighborhood

Dear MVSNA,

I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post this.  I live at the Yale and was recently mugged, and was wondering what is a good way to warn my neighbors.  Those in our building are aware through our newsletter, but I'm wondering whether the same people are behind it, or whether there's just an increase in crime all around.  Also, I wonder anyone has approached our DC council person.

Thanks

Hi,

This blog is a great place to make other residents aware of what is going on. I also suggest you might want to join the listserv at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mvsna/. I think it is hard for the police to tell if it is all the same people since suspects got away with some of the incidents. Jack Evan's office is aware of the increased crime and more importantly Lt. Carroll of 3D has put more patrols in our immediate area. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any concerns.

Sorry this happened to you , that really sucks. It does seem as though there has been an upswing in robberies and theft from auto recently. A couple of incidents have been posted about on the mvsna yahoo group. There is also a yahoo group for "shawneighborhood" and "MPD-3D". The police come to the ANC 2C meetings (tonight) which is also a good forum.
