BASIS PCS and SMS Events tonight

BASIS Charter School info session (tonight)

6:30-8:00 PM, Thursday, November 17
Fellowship Hall
Mt Vernon Place United Methodist Church, 9th & Mass NW
(Convention Center Metro or Gallery Place Metro)

Michael and Olga Block, the Co-Founders of BASIS Tucson and BASIS Scottsdale, will be in town during the week of Nov. 14 to conduct five parent information sessions across the city.

BASIS Tucson, the flagship school, is ranked among the top ten high school programs in the nation by Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, and The Washington Post.

BASIS DC will offer students the same academic program that earned BASIS Tucson national acclaim and, unlike many of the nation’s elite academic institutions, it will offer this top-quality education to all students who wish to enroll.

Annual Shaw Main Streets Development Forum (tonight)

I image we'll get an update on Kelsey Gardens, the Mandalay restaurant at 9th & P, and advance info on CityMarket at O for those who can't make the construction kickoff during the workday Friday. I wonder if anyone from Gibson Plaza will be there to update on the completion of that stellar project for low/moderate income people and families.

7pm, Thursday, November 17, 2011
Daniel/Shaw Library, 1630 7th Street NW

Come find out why the crane is the official 'bird' of Shaw, as developers update the community on their projects and answer questions. This annual event always offers special announcements, so be among the first to know the latest answers to the ever-popular question, "What's next in Shaw?" Sponsored by Shaw Main Streets.
