This Sunday Aug 29th, United House of Prayer will hold their annual baptism by fire hose. The 600 Block of M Street NW will be closed from 7am-3pm according to MPD.
I encourage neighbors to come out an witness this spectacle, it is something else! ;) Also please mind any no parking signs and plan accordingly. If you do get towed, call 311 to locate your car. Have a great weekend!

Last year the 500 block of M and the 1100 block of 6th were closed as well, but not for the full time.

if MPD posts any additional street closures we will certainly forward them but I'd say generally expect a bit of a traffic snarl. Thousands of worshipers attend this event.

Please ignore/delete my earlier post. I am confusing this event with the bands from Memorial Day weekend when more streets were closed.
