This weekend was a busy one, on Friday there reportedly was a dramatic foot chase thru the alleys & streets from 4th & M over to the Convention Center as the police tried to serve a warrant on a 24 yr old man. check out the NBC video The guy apparently thought he could be a Parkour expert and jumped over fences & off an escalator. Does anyone know if this was related to America's Most Wanted?
Then last night, right after the first 5 Eye film, neighbors were walking up the 1100 block of 5th st to be greeted by a gaggle of police cars. MPD was less than forthcoming with information but according to a neighbor, a man who was recently incarcerated walked into a ground floor apartment on the west side of the block using a key that had been hidden outside. (he might've entered thru the rear) the occupants were home. the man ultimately went running & was caught on 6th st by neighbors and/or police.
Please dont leave keys hidden outside. If you need a spare handy, keep one with a trusted neighbor. If you see anyone suspicious scoping out the alleys & yards, just call the police.
Tomorrow is National Night Out. MPD & the Mount Vernon Triangle CID will hold another community bike ride which will start at 6:00pm in front of 555 Mass & meander thru the Triangle to Golden Rule Plaza where there will be a cookout at 7:00pm. This is an easy ride and a very fun time! Hope to see you there.
