Neighborhood Watch for Mount Vernon Square?

 Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting to the group - I've become increasingly concerned (as I'm sure many of us are) with the recent rise in muggings in the neighborhood, especially on 5th and 4th Streets between M Street. I was wondering whether the Neighborhood Watch is active in our neighborhood? I know there's a sign posted on 5th and M that a Neighborhood Watch is active in our neighborhood, but I haven't heard anything on it?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone has interest in taking some leisurely walks around the neighborhood in the evenings to try to deter some of the crime that's been going on in the neighborhood?

Thanks!

-Sarah Zubair

That's a great idea to help deter crime. I would be interested in doing the walks.

All,

I'm so glad to see there's interests in taking some walks around the neighborhood. Would anyone be interested in taking some walks this weekend? Maybe even tomorrow evening? Let me know if there's interest and I'll send out a time and place to meet.

And thanks to Si for the information on the walk scheduled for the 20th - I'm hoping I can make it.
