May MVSNA Meeting Notes

One piece of feedback I have is that guest speakers, such as Steuart/Paradigm at the last meeting, should be moved up in the agenda to occur immediately after MPD. I think Steuart had to wait nearly 70 minutes to take the floor this week. I've seen the scenario play out the same way in the past with Paul Millstein and the 5th & I folks. They might be too polite to say so directly, but I don't think making them wait through an hour of updates about WASA, DCRA, homeless feeding, etc is a courteous way to treat guest speakers. If we show a little more respect for their time there's a chance they'll be less evasive when future invitations are extended.

Paul, I agree with you. A few items of business required a quorum (bylaws and goals) and needed to be done up front, but the other items could have waited until after Guy's presentation. I also think that we need to make sure everyone has a chance to speak and ask their questions - and that you wait to be recognized by the Chair before starting to jump in with your question. Several people left frustrated because they couldn't get a word in edge-wise on the Steuart proposal(s)

Are we talking about the lots that are located between NY Ave and L st right across from the City Vista V and L buildings condos....Any 390 units..wow that's a lot of people and not sure if the area's infurstructure is ready for that...to close for comfort
