Beautification Time!!

Ah ...Spring!  A time of renewal when flowers bloom, weather turns warm & friendly neighbors stoop and stroll the streets.  Its also time for our Spring Clean up!  For those of you who didnt get your beautification fix at the Mount Vernon Triangle Tree Planting or the Marion Street Garden workday recently (click for pics), now is your chance!

Meet at the corner of 4th & M Streets NW at 8am or thereabouts, Saturday April 17th.  We will have coffee & refreshments, DPW SWEEP is providing rakes & brooms plus plenty of trash bags (but bring your own if you can....)  We are also generously supported by Shaw Main Streets and Old City Green in partnership with Keep Shaw Beautiful Day and there will be pretty flowers to plant in the treeboxes.  DPW will also dump a load of mulch on the corner of 4th & Ridge Sts NW for neighbors to enjoy & use.

DPW will be by around 1pm to collect bagged trash from 3 corners 4th & M, 5th & M and Morgan & NJ.  (we will have a vehicle roaming around to help transport stuff...that said if anyone has a wheelbarrow for mulch...;)  Dont forget your gloves, see you Saturday!
