This should not be taken as an exhaustive account of PSA 308 meeting. (I am not the best note taker human civilization has seen, but it should give an idea. Sorry these are late.)
Two shootings in Shaw
1) Monday, March 8, 2010 around 8.30PM
1 person shot in leg
MPD is investigating whether this is gang related
2) Thursday, March 11, 2010 around 2.00PM
1 person shot – taken to hospital
MPD says he was intended target
1 person caught with gun around Giant (other person fled) – MPD seeing if this person is linked to 2PM shooting.
Plan of Action
1) Full stride beat officers
Officers are on foot patrolling the neighborhood
2) Officers are also patrolling in cars
3) Crime Suppression Unit
--MPD is plain cars
--vice units in this area
4) Gun Recovery Units
--focus on recovering weapons
5) Gun/Drug Sigs posted
--list forthcoming where they are located from MPD
--once list provided check once a week to make sure they stay up (citizens and MPD)
-- enhanced penalty for offenders within 1K feet from property
--needs USAO enforcement
--Sergeant Harris should provide this info

n 5-7 assigned on average during the day
n No answer for # assigned on average during the evening/night—again though we are told this fluctuates depending on need.
