Bishop Harry Jackson Jr. has claimed D.C. residency on voter registration rolls, but he owns two homes in Maryland, including a $1.1 million estate in Silver Spring. (Blade photo by Aram Vartian)
The Washington Blade has an article online (to appear in Friday's print edition) that places our neighborhood at the center of the gay marriage controversy in DC. Apparently, the pastor of the Maryland church who is leading the effort to overturn DC's marriage equality law claims he lives in The Whitman at 910 M Street NW. That's significant because in order to serve as a sponsor of a referendum to change D.C. law, the individual must be a DC resident.
Will Attorney General Peter Nickels direct his staff to investigate and prosecute this matter? Given Mr. Nickel's own now-settled controversy regarding his District residency, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Are there any Rev. Jackson or Mr. Honaker sightings among readers? Do report.
To whom would we lodge this complaint. I def. think members of the community, esp. gay community, should fight back against this man with all available

it was in the early '90's when the DC CHIEF of POLICE retired from the MPD after it became public that he shared 1 bedroom apartment with another man at the Landsburg Apartments on 8th St NW

And here I thought the era of gay, anti-gay closeted hypocrites was coming to an end. They never cease to amaze and disgust me.

Jackson was having a big ole cryfest with Bill O'Reilly about how journalists "hacked into" the publicly accessible voter records that anybody can go and look at.

If this is the case, he will have committed at least one act of fraud: claiming the deduction when he is in fact a DC resident or registering to vote in DC when he has declared himself a resident of Maryland.
