MVS Residents,
Please be advised that this weekend is the annual May 30th Celebration for the United House of Prayer For All People. We expect a lot of out-of-town guests so please plan accordingly!
Comments
Thank you for posting a reminder about this annual event. Officer Tommy Barnes noted at our MVSNA meeting last night that the United House of Prayer expects between 5,000 and 10,000 attendees, according to permit applications. Participants will begin to arrive on Thursday, but most will come on Saturday and Sunday. There will be events each day. I believe the parade is Saturday and there is a large service at the Convention Center on Sunday. Buses are to park at the old convention center parking lot. The police had not yet received information on street closings from the DC government. Expect double parking. 70 officers are assigned to assist with the event/traffic.

The parade starts promptly at 11:00 a.m on May 23, 2009 so there should be some traffic jams here and there but not that much.

Unless of course you're stuck in a traffic jam, then the feeling is endless.
