Busboys & Poets
Does anyone know if they are set (or look like) they will be opening this coming week?
I looked at their menu http://www.busboysandpoets.com/menu.php and they have some tasty looking items :)

Two days ago I asked someone in there working when they were opening and he said next week.

They keep pushing back the date. It went from Sept 15 to Sept 21 and now I'm hearing Wednesday September 24th.

Last week, I walked into the building (since the doors were people and people where there) and asked when they are going to open and they said next weekend. Everything looks ready. There were chairs, tables, a lots of silver/chrome surfaces. The workers there were installed some electronics thus, I think they are doing the final touches. Can't wait to do brunch there!

Me too, thanks! I walked by yesterday and they had their doors opened and one or two tables by the entrance had food on them. We thought they were having osme soft opening but they said they weren't ready just yet.

I received an email today saying Busboys is open for dinner this week. When walking back from Metro I saw it was all lit up with a fair number of people inside.

I just gave it a closer look. My guess is the activity tonight is some sort of server orientation.

After the neighborhood meeting last night, we stopped by and they manager gave us a tour. It is very nicely laid out, but has bathrooms upstairs only. There's an elevator, a very small one-person stage, a fair trade retail selection with some books for sale coming in a couple of weeks. Last night's open was considered a "soft open" and they do not plan to do a grand opening. They said the foot traffic due to the Safeway was great and I saw several people walking to safeway stop when they saw bus boys and come through the door. It's so great to have a place to dine. This will only increase pedestrians in the area and hopefully drive out the criminal retailers. We should do our next MVSNA meeting at Bus Boys.
