Vacant Lot at 451 Ridge Street - Finally Cleaned!

This week, I walked by 451 Ridge Street and was happy to see that the vacant  lot was finally cleared. 

In late 2006, the owners planned to build two row houses on 451 and 453 Ridge Street NW.  After the design received the Mount Vernon Square Neighborhood Association's support, the project fell through.  From that point on, a jungle began to take shape on the fenced off 451 lot.  After attempting to contact the owners, we express concerns to DCRA on numerous occasions since October 2007, noting the potential for rats and dead animals on the site.  It appears that 8 months later, the lot has finally been cleaned up.  According to Ridge Street neighbors, the owners came out last week and cut it down.
