Chimney News

Just got this very welcome message from Rob A. on the 200 block of N Street:

At the end of last week, strange markings (nope, not crop circles) showed up on N Street NW where we've been publicly nagging DDOT about their failure to act. There are now 3 (maybe 4) sections of the road labeled "12' SH" - where it looks like they are going to install speed humps for us.  If so, the last nagging we did at the MVSNA meeting is paying off!

Aaaaand... I noticed the other day half of the rest of 1242 NJ (aka The House that Fell down or The Half of a House Hanging on for Dear Life) was missing & there were boards tacked on to the remaining chunk.  Its still a mess, accessable to the working girls, dangerous, a long way from structurally sound & a trash dump pit but perhaps someone is starting to pay attention? Both 1238 & 1242 are owned by the same person and DC is now taxing the properties as vacant.  The combined tax balance is $35,605.  sorry for the blurry shots, it was getting dark...
