Can't they get in trouble with the NFL folks over this? It seems like it must be some sort of licensing or branding issue since the are using the league's name to promote their 'business.'

I've been in contact with both the Office of the Attorney General and DCRA yesterday and today. I'm organizing them to move and coordinate with the neighbors - and it seems like they are stepping up. Let's all push for action.

I was watching sports center the other day and the topic was on the recent trend involving former and current NFL Players owning nightclubs in developing urban areas. I thought to my self ...What a coincidence, we have one in our neighborhood ..so it peaked my interest. The latest incident involves future hall of fame wide receiver Marvin Harrison of the Colts, who operates a club, in North Philly, in an old warehouse called Playmakers. Harrison is alleged to be the owner of the gun where the bullets came from that left one man injured and an innocent child suffering eye damage from shattered glass resulting from the shooting. Evidently owning a club is the players’ favorite new thing and the track record these clubs have is not very good. In summary the show was why trying to understand why these well known and well compensated players are so interested in owning nightclubs and why the have so many problems with guns, violence and drugs. Below is an article highlighting the Marvin Harrison story.

The police are always looking for intel on this (hilarious)illegal business. Asst. Chief Diane Groomes told us at the last MVSNA meeting, the things neighbors can do: keep calling the police when violations occur (disturbing peace, blocking alley..) and/or take photos....
