While delivering MVSNA Newsletters this weekend (ahem...ahem...always need volunteers :) I noticed several groovy new paint jobs around the neighborhood.  This pepto pink door really caught my fancy.

The scaffolding is coming off Marrakesh as of this morning and the newly renovated facade looks gorgeous!  There is some granite & tile at the bottom which provites a nice embellishment.  I love the peaks at the roofline.

I passed by Marrakesh last night - it looks great. Nice job.

Does anyone know if there are plans to do something with AV's outside eating area? I noticed that the fence was painted a few weeks ago. I am wondering if Marrakesh might rent it from Douglas Development to provide outside seating when it warms up. It would seem like a good use of space, if Marrakesh has the staff to handle it.

wouldn't they have to apply for outdoor seating? it would be great but there is a process i believe. unless of course the govt doesnt care like they didnt care about the shortages at the OTR.

Well, that depends on whether public space permits are transferable, which I don't know. AV had a public space permit for the site. My instinct is that Marrakesh would probably need to re-apply, but if there is no change in the previously approved usage (occupancy, dimensions, hours), it would go through after notice to the ANC.

While almost everyone loves outdoor seating, Marrakesh is about the experience as much as the food. I don't think they can replicate that experience outdoors. Heck they don't even really have windows - right?
