This is ridiculous ...... and you wonder why the residents are worried about their vote counting and fraud at the polling locations?

DC is so backward and corrupt it should NEVER be a state.

Libby: So you don't believe in the concept of democracy that America was founded on?

Sam: As a matter of fact I do believe in the constitution of the United States. Nowhere in the document does it recognize DC as a state.

Libby, that wasn't the question. The question was do you believe in the concept of democracy that America was founded on ... not if you believe that DC should be recognized as a state becausee of the constitution.

Ah, Libby, that is true, but avenues towards statehood as detailed in the Constitution have nothing to do with perceived or actual "backwardness" or "corruption." Spare all of us the "DC doesn't deserve it" argument. The District has been poorly managed in the past, and still has its problems, but numerous other states, cities, and towns have had similar problems in the past or present-- none have had their statehoods revoked. Whether the Constitution provides the grounds for DC to become a state short of a constitutional amendment is a great philosophical and legal debate. Whether it "deserves" statehood based on its past leadership and governance is not.

When our coutry was founded only property OWNERS could vote. Only white men could vote, So, the answer is: NO, I do not agree to democracy as define by our founders.

Furthermore, USDJ should run our elections because the locals are too stupid to run it themselves.

DCBOEE needs to be revamped from the ground up. But check out the NEW DC Council site: www.DCCouncil.us. It's finally a world class web site. We should have a world class BOEE to ensure that our democracy is functioning properly for everyone.
